Incredibly Prime Arlington, TX Real Estate and Historic Masonic Mansion Headed to the Bank - Eastern Star Home, 1111 E. Division Street

The Eastern Star Home located at 1111 E. Division Street holds a deep, rich history in Arlington.  Constructed in 1924, the, at the time, sprawling estate was intended to be a home for citizens within the Eastern Star Organization of Texas, a Masonic and charitable organization seen as a way of life.  With 3 additions to the residential manor within the next 30 years, it was almost like a city held within a structure.  A kitchen, a dining room, various living quarters, and even a hospital unit were all once located in the large home.   Today, the 28.5 acres encompassing the manor are rarely mowed and upkeep of the structure has declined.  The appraisal of the historic estate has fluctuated from $3.5 million in 2008 to $11.8 million in 2009 to $7.6 million in 2010.  We have recently learned that the 7,308 sq. foot Masonic Mansion and grounds is being transferred to the Bank.

The Eastern Star Home, also referred to as the Order of the Eastern Star Retirement Home, is owned by South of the Stadium, LLC, and appropriately so.  The property is due south of the Dallas Cowboys stadium at 1111 E. Division Street.  Best of luck to the owners of this historic property.

Bathroom Showroom by Ana Antunes at Leroy Merlin Megastore- 1 / 2

Here are the photos and description for the first 2 showroom bathrooms on display at Leroy Merlin Megastore in Alfragide Lisbon. They were a project by me and my team. I hope you enjoy them. Concept descriptions were google translated and you know how it sucks sometimes but it was the fastest way to do it, they are 6 otherwise I would be here for hours!.

Ambiente 1

"Clássico Contemporâneo" 

PÚBLICO ALVO

 Teresa e Henrique, são um casal na idade dos 40, advogados de profissão, que gostam de frequentar eventos culturais, participar em actividades familiares e viajar. Moram num apartamento no Restelo com os dois filhos, que já estão na universidade. 

CONCEITO 

Esta casa de banho pertence à suite do casal. A utilização de linhas direitas associadas a elementos inspirados em motivos decorativos de outras épocas e tons neutros, sugere um espaço confortável e cria um ambiente contemporâneo mas ao mesmo tempo clássico. A escolha de um revestimento com um padrão geométrico a lembrar um papel de parede, nas tonalidades bege e castanho; o uso de uma pastilha bege pontuada de superfícies douradas, com a utilização de aços polidos, atribui algum ‘status’ e remete-nos para um estilo ‘Art-deco’ moderno (nome dos interiores vigentes da época 1920/30).Os apliques de parede e o espelho em conjunto com o desenho do móvel do lavatório, mais as cortinas da banheira, ajudam a definir a estética escolhida para dar vida a este espaço.

"Contemporary Classic"
TARGET AUDIENCE

Teresa and Henry are a couple at the age of 40, lawyers by profession, who like to attend cultural events, participate in family activities and travel. They live in an apartment in Restelo with two children, who are already in college.

CONCEPT

This bathroom suite belongs to the couple. The use of straight lines associated with elements inspired by the decorative motifs of other times and neutral tones, suggests a comfortable space and creates a contemporary but classic at the same time. The choice of a coating with a geometric pattern reminiscent of a wallpaper in beige and brown tones, the use of an insert beige punctuated by gilded surfaces, using steel polished, assigns some status and takes us to style 'Art Deco' modern (name of the existing interior of the season 1920/30). the appliques and wall mirror in conjunction with the design of the mobile sink, the tub over the curtains, help to define the aesthetics chosen to give life into this space.

 

Ambiente 2

"Jovem Elegante"

PÚBLICO ALVO

Francisco e Eva, são um jovem casal, na idade dos 20, em início de carreira: ele é bancário e ela trabalha numa loja de roupa. Vivem no centro do Porto, na primeira casa. Têm pouco dinheiro e a casa é pequena. Como hobbies gostam demúsica, de ir a concertos e sair à noite com os amigos. 

CONCEITO

Esta é a única casa de banho do apartamento. Quase minimalista, este espaço de pequena dimensão é acima de tudo funcional. De forma a diferenciar a zona de lavatório e sanita do espaço de duche, recorreu-se à divisão das diferentes zonas, através da cor e dos revestimentos. No primeiro espaço encontramos o azul jade como tom predominante, em contraste com o branco, o castanho toupeira e a tonalidade prata do tampo da sanita e do inox polido das torneiras; no duche recorreu-se à utilização duma textura visual em branco, através do revivalismo tijolo/azulejo chanfrado da 'primus vitoria', tão típico de muitas fachadas portuguesas. O fundo do wc, lê-se como uma caixa envolvente, branca, com um corredor funcional azul. É actual, contemporâneo e também elegante, não só pela associação de cores, mas também pelos acessórios escolhidos. Optou-se ainda, pela falta de espaço, pela ausência de um bidet e pela alternativa colocação de um kit higiénico.

"Young Elegant"
TARGET AUDIENCE

Francisco and Eve are a young couple, at the age of 20, early career: he's banking and she works in a clothing store. They live in the center of OPorto, the first house. They have little money and the house is small. As hobbies like music, going to concerts and nights out with friends.

CONCEPT

This is the only bathroom of the apartment. Almost minimalist, this small space is above all functional. In order to differentiate the area of the sink and toilet shower room, we used the division of different areas, through color and finishes. In the first place we find the blue jade as prevailing tone, in contrast with the white, brown mole and tone silver lid of the toilet and polished stainless steel taps, the shower turned to the use of a visual texture in white, through the revival brick / tile Bevel 'primus victory', so typical of many Portuguese facades. The bottom of the toilet, reads like a bounding box, white with a blue corridor functional. It is current, contemporary and stylish too, not only by the combination of colors, but also for accessories. It was decided also by the lack of space, the absence of a bidet and by the alternative placement of a toilet kit.

New Bathroom Projects at Leroy Merlin - the instalation

After the invitation to be the design Team responsible for designing the new showroom bathrooms on display in the LEROY MERLING megastore in Alfragide. This is how it started.  After 1 month of research concepts, materials and studies of the store's target audience, and with all the valuable help of the section heads of the store and my newest assistant Bruno Pacheco, this was the 3D presentation for the project and showed six distinct concepts;

1. Classic / Contemporary

2. Young / Elegant
3. Modern / Futuristic

4. Ecological / SPA

5. Romantic / toilet

6. Glamour / Contemporary

Depois do convite ao Querido Mudei a Casa para a concepção dos novos ambientes de casa de banho em exposição na loja de Alfragide. Foi assim que tudo começou e após 1 mês de pesquisa de conceitos, materiais da loja e de estudos do público alvo da loja, tudo com a ajuda preciosa dos chefes de secção da loja e do meu mais recente assistente Bruno Pacheco, esta foi a apresentação em 3D concebida para o projecto e que mostrava 6 conceitos distintos;

3. Moderno/Futurista

4. Ecológico / SPA

5. Romantico / lavabo

6. Glamour /Contemporâneo

Then Instalation started with the help of a great team who worked day and night...
